Closing the Gap Healthcare (CTG) is dedicated to providing Canadians with the highest level of care across a wide range of home-based and community-setting services.

We are launching an exciting publicly funded program that will help us train new healthcare workers to provide home and community care services and we are looking for a HR Coordinator to join our team.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Coordinator, Healthcare Project will be the front-facing person for CTG’s Student Success Program. The primary focus of this role is to be the initial point of contact and provide an exceptional level of customer service for all new employees of our Home Support Worker Program. You are an integral part of their success in integrating them into CTG, the healthcare industry, and an enriched employment journey.

This is a one-year contract in a hybrid environment of in-office and home and is based in our Mississauga office.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Interact directly with HSW Program employees on all their inquiries, and provide information, support, and company/program advice. Responsible for assessing and de-escalating stressful/crisis situations and making appropriate referrals.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day HR Operations including onboarding, benefits, training, development, offboarding, and other HR processes related to the HSW program
  • Attention to detail is vital as you will be creating and maintaining various HR records including employee files, benefits administration, and program success evaluation to support the HSW employees.
  • Actively seeking and supporting continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience (i.e. providing feedback and guidance on policies and procedures impacting new employees, new employees, and new program implementation, providing operational enhancement suggestions to enhance the new employee experience);
  • In collaboration with the Client Services and Talent Acquisition COE, design the New Student Experience Program to support the development, facilitation, and promotion of pre-orientation, orientation, and in-class programming, workshops, interest groups, events, and activities for the first-year employees.

 

Skills needed for success:

 

  • You are an employee-centered individual with a passion for facilitating employee success and enhancing the employee experience
  • Organized to a “T”, meticulous, and your attention to detail is bar none
  • Impeccable sense of urgency, especially in responding to employee inquiries.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration skills
  • A true HR Professional in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and integrity
