We are looking for an RN - NSWOCC who is comfortable providing care to our clients. Our next RN - NSWOCC/ RPN - SWAN will thrive in a culture made for caring where being flexible and possessing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills will drive the success of their role. We have a casual position available based out at our Mississauga/ Toronto Clinic.
What you will be doing:
Our team of healthcare professionals delivers care to thousands of clients each day enabling people to close the gap between their healthcare needs and overall well-being, caring the way we would care for our own loved ones.
- Our RN - NSWOCC will assist clients with wound, ostomy and continence care allowing clients to remain within their home and within their community setting.
- Will be responsible for the provision and management of high quality, appropriate nursing care to all individuals with actual and potential skin integrity issues related to wound management, ostomy care, and continence related nursing diagnoses.
- Adhering to provincial regulatory body standards and practice guidelines, perform safe, competent evidence-based nursing care within his/her scope of practice.
- Assess, plan, collaborate with the client, family and other members of the health care team to establish and/or update the care plan and implement and evaluate client care with every client encounter and provide clinical advocacy.
- Assessment of clients for appropriateness of virtual consults.
Skills need for success:
- Hold a certificate for successful completion of a wound, ostomy, and continence program (NSWOCC) from a recognized educational institution; or
- Hold a certificate for successful completion of a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (“WOCN”) program from a recognized educational institution; or
- Has completed 75% of the NSWOCC certificate; or
- Previous work experience in the community or acute care setting with a focus on wound care is preferred.
- You are highly organized and excel at managing your schedule.
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A minimum of two years’ community or clinical/hospital experience preferred.
- You are currently certified as a Registered Nurse (RN/ RPN) with the CNO.
- Currently certified with Standard First Aid & CPR/ AED (Level C)
- Can possess current Mask Fit test
